The HGV Medical consists of 2 parts:

  1. The Eye test

The Eye test

The eye test is done with an eye chart 3m away from you. If you meet the medical eye sight standard then we will normally sign off the medical form and give it to you.

However, the Eye sight requirement for HGV is slightly higher than for normal car driving. Don’t worry, the doctor will tell you if there are any issues with this.

What If I Wear Contact lenses or glasses?

If you need glasses or contact lenses, please bring them with you for the medical as well as the prescription from the opticians. Don’t worry, if you don’t have the prescription. We have machines to check your prescription in our offices.
