Requesting your medical records from your GP

Most councils need you to provide some sort of medical records. Wolverhampton taxi drivers need their full medical history. Please be mindful this can take up to 28 days. The GP has a legal obligation to provide these records within 28 days as per GDPR regulations.

The following councils require you to have your GP medical summary. Wolverhampton, Walsall, Wychavon, Wyre Forest, Transport for London (Full medical records) and Worcester council.

Simply Medicals, is approved by TFL to do the PCO licence medical. We need to have access to your medical records in order to conduct this medical.

The doctor will check your eye sight, height / weight, blood pressure, listen to your heart for murmurs and conduct other examinations if you have medical problems. They will then go through your entire medical history to ensure you are fit to drive.

You have your initial medical. The next one is at the age of 45. It is then every 5 years until the age of 65. Afterwhich, it is annually. The doctor may request an early medical if you have certain medical conditions e.g. heart attacks.

The Wolverhampton medical is a simple medical which takes around 15 minutes.

You will get your certificate on the day, if you are fit to drive.
